The Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Mattress — tested and reviewed
If you’ve been hanging around here lately, you’ve probably seen us singing the praises of the new Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Mattress. And who could blame us? It’s cooling, sustainable, the perfect medium-firm hybrid design, and… oops, we did it again, didn't we? (Cue Britney!)
Anyway, we figured you might be sick of hearing us talk about our mattress at this point. It was time for some of our fellow mattress enthusiasts to chime in with their thoughts on the S&G mattress, and Nap Lab delivered a review unlike any other.
Nap Lab’s Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Mattress Review has it all — heat maps, medicine balls, and even some weighted vests. What more can you ask for in a mattress review?
There was an embarrassing lack of pizza in the review, actually.
In all seriousness, the team at Nap Lab ran some very cool tests that are worth checking out. They can give you a better idea of what makes the S&G mattress special in their super scientific, unbiased fancy review. Here are some of their findings:
Highlights
Among the many positive things that Nap Lab had to say about our mattress, they highlighted its cooling cover, strong edge support, and high bounce levels.
We’ll give you one guess at why bounce-ability might come in handy in a mattress ;)
Nap Lab gave the S&G mattress an overall score of 9.51 out of 10, ranking it higher than other latex hybrid mattress options like the Amerisleep Organica and Happsy. The review evaluates the mattress’s performance in several specific areas including:
Response time
Nap Lab scored the response time of our Eucalyptus Mattress at a perfect 10 out of 10. This score measures how quickly the mattress responds to movements from the people sleeping on it. The quicker it returns to its original shape, the better the score. And based on Nap Lab’s findings, the S&G mattress is super fast and responsive.
Can't keep this mattress down!
This fast response time makes it easier for sleepers to change positions on the mattress, move around, and even get up (when that dreaded time comes).
Cooling
We’ve always touted the S&G mattress as a breathable, cooling bed that’s perfect for people who overheat or deal with night sweats when they sleep. We’re happy to say that Nap Lab agrees. The S&G mattress scored an excellent 9.5 out of 10 on cooling after Nap Lab collected comprehensive data on heat dissipation.
The superior cooling is thanks in part to the pocketed coils in the mattress which allow for airflow. The latex helps the mattress stay cool, too, since it doesn’t retain heat.
Off-gassing
Off-gassing, if you’re not aware, is the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that occurs with many new mattresses. You bring home your new mattress, and bam! You get hit with an unpleasant chemical smell that lasts up to a few weeks. Not only is it gross, but off-gassing is bad for your health, too.
Luckily, we made the S&G mattress without fiberglass, polyurethane, formaldehyde, or polyfoam so you can take a deep breath. Nap Lab scored the S&G mattress at a 9.7 out of 10 for off-gassing. You might smell some latex in the beginning (totally harmless and all natural), but the review notes that the smell goes away completely within days.
