We Can't Do it Alone.
S&G has environmentalism woven into the very fabric of our company (get it?). Since our founding in 2017, we've donated over $250,000 to charities in the form of cash or product, including world-class organizations like Earthjustice and the World Wildlife Fund®.
Beyond our own efforts, over the years S&G has been inspired by many other dynamic young startups taking bold action, many of whom are also based in Colorado. Through our personal and professional networks, we've become "corporate friends" with a number of amazing likeminded companies and people, and occasionally we like to introduce you to some of these folks.
As we celebrate Earth Month 2025 (Earth Day is 4/22!), we wanted to spotlight a fellow Techstars Boulder alumnus, Climatize. Climatize is a unique, Kickstarter-like platform for investing in a greener future (and by "green," we mean both the globe and your wallet). Climatize allows many individual investors (i.e., you!) to make small-dollar contributions that end up crowdfunding millions of dollars of investment for local renewable energy projects like solar panels on a supermarket. Climatize then pays investors up to 10% APY on their money, so you can earn while the Earth... doesn't burn? That was hard to rhyme on the back end, shouldn't have tried it.
(And no, this isn't an ad or promotional partnership – just two companies in very different industries who share notes, exchange ideas, and get along well!)

Climatize empowers individuals to invest in renewable energy projects across the United States with as little as $10. By lowering the financial barrier to entry, they're enabling a broader community to participate in the clean energy transition, instead of relying on traditional centers of capital.
Major Milestones
In just a couple years of operation, Climatize has already achieved:
- $8,183,042 invested in renewable energy projects nationwide.
- 1,944 individual investors and counting – together, one person at a time, we can create the change we so desperately need!
- Over $1 million returned to investors already!
These investments provide funding for solar installations for farms, community centers, and small businesses, generate local domestic energy independence, and reduce our collective carbon footprint.
Celebrating Earth Month with Community Action
In honor of Earth Month, Climatize has launched a "Give $60, Get $60" referral campaign. Until April 30, 2025, users can invite friends to join the platform. Both the inviter and the invitee receive $60 upon successful onboarding — no investment required. It's a smart gambit to dramatically expand their growing network of likeminded investors using the platform, and judging by the simple fact that we're writing this blog post – despite no referral link contained within – we think it's working!
